Terms of Use

Last updated:

These terms explain using Cartlea, optional purchases and Household sharing, and your consumer rights.

Cartlea is developed and published by Veritware Pty Ltd (“Veritware”). By using Cartlea, you agree to these terms. Features and purchase options can differ by platform, app version and region; an optional feature described here applies only when it is offered and you use it.

Using Cartlea

You may use Cartlea for lawful personal and household shopping on devices you own or control, subject to the applicable app-store rules. We grant you a non-exclusive licence to use the app for that purpose. Veritware retains rights in the software and branding; open-source components remain subject to their own licences.

You keep your rights in the lists and other content you create. If you use Household, you allow Veritware and its service providers to store, process and transmit the selected shared content as needed to operate that service.

Do not use the app to break the law, access another person’s account without permission, interfere with the service or infringe someone else’s rights. Restrictions on copying or reverse engineering do not limit activities permitted by applicable law or an open-source licence.

Your lists, backups and product information

Ordinary list use is local and does not require a Veritware account. Keep backups of information you need, especially before changing devices, clearing app storage or reinstalling. Sharing a list or exporting a file places a copy with the recipient or service you choose.

Check recognised speech, barcode suggestions, quantities and prices before relying on them. Product lookup information comes from an external source and may be incomplete or out of date. Cartlea’s totals are planning aids based on entered information, not a retailer’s checkout quote or a guarantee of product suitability.

Unlocked purchases

Where offered, Cartlea Unlocked is an optional one-time purchase that expands the limits and features shown in the app. It is separate from Household and is not a Household subscription. The store displays the price and applicable terms before you confirm a purchase.

Purchases and restoration are handled through the store account used to buy them. Do not assume a purchase transfers between Apple and Google or between unrelated store accounts. For a missing purchase or refund enquiry, contact Cartlea Support or use the store’s purchase-help process. Your statutory rights continue to apply.

Optional Household sharing

Household provides connected sharing for the lists you choose. It requires an account and internet connectivity for synchronisation. You are responsible for protecting your sign-in details and sharing invitations only with people you intend to join.

A Household Owner manages membership and ownership. Members can access and change the shared content permitted by their role. Changes can affect other members’ copies. Removing access does not erase information someone has already copied, exported or retained locally.

Ordinary local Cartlea and Unlocked remain separate from Household. Buying Unlocked is not required to use Household, and a Household subscription does not include Unlocked.

Household subscriptions and cancellation

Where offered, Household is a monthly auto-renewing subscription that funds one Household. The purchasing store shows the price, billing period and renewal terms before purchase. Renewal continues unless stopped through the relevant store or the available subscription controls.

The person who pays for a Household is its subscription sponsor. Ownership and payment are separate: transferring ownership, leaving a Household, signing out or uninstalling does not by itself cancel renewal. Use the subscription-management action and verify the store’s cancellation confirmation.

Stopping renewal normally leaves access in place until the paid-through date shown for the subscription. Payment problems can lead to a recovery period or suspension. After verified expiry, a 30-day recovery period applies before final expiry removes the previous live connected list content. Follow the status and deadline shown in the app; ordinary local Cartlea remains available.

Refunds and billing corrections depend on the circumstances, applicable law and the purchasing store’s process. These terms do not impose a blanket “no refunds” rule.

Leaving, deleting a Household or deleting an account

Use the Household and account controls to leave, transfer ownership or request deletion. An Owner with other members must resolve ownership before deleting their account. Deleting a Household requires other members and any unresolved subscription sponsorship to be dealt with first.

Account deletion ends your connected account and access. It does not erase unrelated local shopping data, remove Unlocked or remotely delete copies held by others. The Privacy Policy explains retained records and shared content. You can also request account deletion from the web without reinstalling.

Availability, changes and your rights

Device behaviour, network interruptions, store services and maintenance can affect the app or connected service. We may make reasonable changes to improve compatibility, security and features. Where a change materially affects a paid service, we will provide notice and any remedy required by law.

We may restrict connected access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, a security problem or a legal requirement. Where practical, we will explain the reason and how to resolve it. This does not remove rights to refunds or other remedies.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where an app or service fails to meet an applicable guarantee, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy.

We may update these terms and will revise the date above. Material changes will be notified where required and will not retrospectively remove rights you already have.
